Trunk-Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2015 Audi A

Hi, I'm between the Yakima Fullback 2-bike rack trunk-mount and the Thule Gateway Pro 2-bike rack for my 2015 Audi A4. I want something easy to install and take off when not in use ... really just a weekend rack. Which trunk-mount racks let you open you the trunk with the rack still on the trunk? Thanks

For ease of use with your 2015 Audi A4, I recommend going with the Yakima Fullback, # Y02634. The Fullback holds a pair of bikes and includes a straightforward installation process using just four straps instead of the common six like the Thule Gateway Pro, # TH88VR.

The Fullback also includes folding dual arms for simple storage on the days you won't be using it, and keep in mind that even though trunk-mounted bike racks will not allow access to the trunk while they are in use, the racks can be removed without much effort. If trunk access is something you value while hauling your bikes, you will need a trailer hitch that fits with your vehicle, such as the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver, # DT24950, and a hitch-mounted bike rack, such as the Curt # C18085 two-bike rack.
