Towing Capacity Using Curt Dual 2 Inch Receiver Tube Adapter # D-192
Question:
Hello, I am looking at a dual hitch extender with the hopes that it could be used while towing my travel trailer. I see the weight rating on them are 3500 and 4000 lbs. Is that weight the towing capacities? Basically I am trying to figure if adding a receiver such as D-192 will compromise my towing capacity. Thanks

Expert Reply:
A dual hitch extender like the Curt Dual 2" Receiver Tube Adapter, 8" Extension # D-192 will not effect your towing capacity, but will effect your tongue weight capacity by 50%. So depending on the tongue weight of your trailer, it may or may not allow you to use your trailer and an additional accessory as the combined tongue weight rating is going to be a limit of 350 lbs.
