Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for 2003 Toyota Solara Convertible

Question:

Hello. I am looking for a basic bike rack for my 2003 solara convertible. Its a soft top and does not have a hitch, so I assume I would need a trunk mount. It does have a factory spoiler. I was wondering if the Thule Gasteway Pro 2 th88VR would work for me. It says it would fit, but I thought I would confirm. Also, I have a cruiser bike. A little larger than a speed bike or whatnot and was wondering if that would have any issues with either type of rack. I guess any suggestions or help you are able to give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The Thule Gateway Pro part # TH88VR is a confirmed fit for your 2003 Toyota Solara convertible. This Thule rack offers a bit more adjustability than many others and the position of the arms is going to be a great fit for you. I highly recommend this carrier and attached a video for you to check out. The weight limit on this rack is 35 pounds so you will need to determine the weight of your cruiser bike. If it weighs more than 35 pounds, we can look for another solution. Check out the attached review video of this rack.

If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes, you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
