Would Hitch Bike Rack Cause Vehicle to Have Lower Fuel Mileage
Question:
Hi...just purchased the Swagman XC-2 bike rack and the Curt hitch that goes with it for my Mazda. Installed it today. I would like to know how much weight I am carryingcouldnt find the weight of each of the two items on line. Would you please let me know the weight? I am wondering if it will reduce my gas mileage when fully loaded. I am guessing it will be equivalent to carrying a person in the back seat.

You wouldn't see any noticeable decrease in fuel mileage with the Swagman XTC2 part # S64670 installed in your hitch. It only weighs 33 lbs which is most likely about the same as the weight of the Curt hitch you installed.
We have yet to hear about a hitch or hitch bike rack causing a vehicle to have lowered fuel mileage.
