Would Reese Weight Distribution RP66558 Work w 2015 Dodge Durango Trailer 500 lbs TW
Question:
Weight distribution hitch question: Tow vehicle is a 2015 Dodge Durango 3.6L with Tow Package. Rated at 6200 tow capacity. Want to pull a travel trailer with a GVWR of 4950 and a tongue weight of about 500 lb. Looking at the Reese RP66558. Does this look like it would work? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
For the tongue weight you listed of 500 lbs the Pro Series system part # RP66558 would be rated properly. You should note that you need to determine tongue weight when the trailer is fully loaded plus consider the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle as tongue weight.
