For you, I recommend a running board that will provide a flat foot step for better footing when entering and exiting your 2005 Dodge Ram truck. The round nerf bars have a great look when they are installed, but have a smaller surface area to place your foot on.
I like the Westin Sure-Grip Running Boards, # 27-6630-1375. These Westin boards are made of sturdy, light weight aluminum and are designed to extra wide to give you a more stable stepping surface.
These anodized aluminum running boards will also include a 1-piece rubber pad that will provide for a non-slip surface. The rubber is UV-resistant to prevent cracking and fading.
The Westin Sure-Grip running boards also offer a lighting option, # 27-6000, to add lights to help see when entering and exiting the vehicle.
