Recommended 7-Way Trailer Connection Wiring On 2015 Ford Expedition
Question:
I have a 2015 Ford Expedition equipped with a 4-pin trailer connector and one extra wire at the bumper that is labeled electric brake. There is no OEM connector on the frail rail, so Ill need to splice new connections in order to convert to 7 wires for a pop-up camper. Where will I get 12-volt and Aux feeds?

For your 2015 Ford Expedition, I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7. This will give you everything you need to wire your system from a 4-way connection to a 7-way connection. It will include the circuit breakers, butt connectors, and wiring needed to complete this set-up.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that will apply the brakes on your trailer with the same intensity and at the same time as you hit the brake pedal. This controller has a really nice LCD screen that makes it easy to diagnose issues as well as ensure everything is functioning correctly. It is an easy to understand controller that takes code deciphering out of the equation. It is adjustable to your driving preferences an has 3 levels of boost.
