Will Wheel and Tire Combo part # AM32680 Work Well on 2010 Keystone Cougar 276RLS
Question:
I currently have ST225/75R15 D rated tires on my 2010 Keystone Cougar 276RLS 5th wheel trailer. While I do not exceed the trailer weight, I am considering increasing the load rating to E thinking that the tire will wear more evenly on long trips 1500 miles in two days. Am I thinking correctly here or should I go with D rated tires? I do realize that increasing to E rating means new wheels as well. I am looking at your Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Tire with 15inch White Spoke Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2inch - Load Range E Item # AM32680. Can my trailer use this tire and wheel?

Expert Reply:
If your current tire size has the capacity needed for your towing setup there really isn't a need to go with a Load Range above it. If you are experiencing wear issues most likely that has to do with the inflation of the tires. Are they inflated to the max psi listed on the sidewall? They have to kept at this pressure at all times otherwise you lose capacity and have wear issues.
That being said, if you have a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern the part # AM32680 would work great on your trailer.
