On the full Size Locking Steel Flush Door Latch, # L3980, the measurement between the housing edge and the edge of the sliding latch is 1 inch. This is measured inside on the housing edge and inside edge of the sliding latch.
The outside to outside measurement between the housing and he sliding latch is 1-3/4 inches.
