Replacement Bolt-On Spindles for Old Boat Trailer

Question:

I have an old, 1950s model boat trailer. It has split rims, 8 inch tires, but the rims have a center opening measurement of 3.25 inches, rather than the standard 2.75 inches. It has a 5 lug bolt pattern and friction nuts. Can find no rim like this anywhere! I wanted to find a spare tire, but no rims were available anywhere. I have replaced the original tires, but now want to replace the spindles on the trailer so I can have a spare tire. These old spindles are held onto the independent suspension mounts with nuts. If a part # or brand was located on the spindle, where would it be? I do not see anything like this on your site. What do you recommend to make this trailer upgrade to a modern rim and tire combination? Thanks

The only thing we have that has a spindle that isn't welded on are the Timbren axle-less systems like # A20RS545. To replace your spindles your best bet is to replace the axle and start with all new parts. This way it will be easy to find replacement parts that are compatible.
