How to Select Compatible Replacement Trailer Hub
Question:

A hub's fit on a spindle depends on the bearings used in the hub and in addition to matching the bearings you need to match the hub weight rating to the axle weight rating. The inner and outer bearings in the hub have an inner diameter that will correspond to the spindle diameter at the points where the bearings ride on it. The bearings' outer diameters correspond to the hub bore dimension.
Bearing numbers are usually pretty easily located on the bearing housing as shown in the linked photo.
The part you referenced, 2K-rated 4-on-4 idler hub # AKIHUB-440-2-1K, uses bearing part # L44643 as both inner and outer bearing. If your existing hubs use this same item for inner and outer bearings then that hub will fit on your spindles. Our main hub page is linked for you. Just click on your axle rating, wheel bolt pattern and bearings to see hubs that will work for you.
