What Bike Racks Are Available for Use With the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk # CC-275

Question:

I am buying an Aliner Ranger 12 camping trailer and would like a trailer frame tongue mounted bike rack to carry two bikes. Stromberg-Carlson CC-275 bike bunk and now Aliner offer an elevated receiver that will accept an RV approved 2 inch bike rack. I found a statement on your website that says the Swagman non-folding, single arm hitch-mount bike racks are the ONLY hitch mount bike racks designed to endure the rough, bumpy ride behind a towed camper. Does that statement also apply to the tongue mounted bike racks where the trailer bounce should be less severe? Also, is it still the case that Swagman is the only bike rack manufacturer that offers a non-folding, single bar model or other approved design? Thank you.

The Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk # CC-275 is intended to hold any bike rack with a 2 inch receiver that is rated for use on an RV. Since trailers are not meant to have the smoothest ride, like a passenger car, they tend to have a lot more movement which result in more movement for your bike rack. Only certain bike racks have been tested to deal with this kind of abuse.

If you are strictly looking for a 2 bike rack that is rated for use on an RV then we currently have the Swagman Dispatch # S44FR. The Dispatch is a platform bike rack that secures your bikes by the wheels and frame. It comes with both a bike and a hitch lock to deter theft of your bike rack and bikes, and is folding so it takes up less room when not in use.

We do have other bike racks that are fit for use on an RV. You can find them by clicking on the attached product page.
