Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch & Underbed Kit for 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5-1/2-Foot Bed

I am looking for a fifth wheel hitch with under bed mounting for a 2015 silverado 1500 with the 58inch bed. I am considering the use of a reese sidewinder and need a compatible hitch without leaving rails in my bed. Thanks.

Usually a very short bed truck like your 5-1/2-foot-bed 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does require a 5th wheel replacement pin box, a Reese Sidewinder or Revolution, in order to have enough turning clearance for tight maneuvers. Sidewinders provide a substantial 22-inches of additional clearance.

But you do have an option in the Demco under-bed mounted slider hitch # DM8550041 and mounting kit # DM8551008. Most slider hitches provide 10- to 14-inches of additional turning clearance but the unique Demco hitch gives you 22-1/2-inches of slider travel for even more clearance than a Sidewinder pin box. This 13K-rated hitch offers a double-pivoting head for easier hitching and a single hook jaw for solid king pin contact. It will give you the clearance you need and allow you to have a clear bed when not towing. The Demco products are made in America.

For an in-bed wiring harness for your trailer you can use # DM8555002 which will plug right in at your existing bumper-mounted 7-way.
