Can Stromberg-Carlson Ladder LA-401 be Made Taller than 99-1/2 Inches
Question:
The ladder comes in two sections that are hinged together near the middle. What are the lengths of the two unassembled sections before the tubing is cut? See photo attached for additional explanation. Thanks!

The overall height of the ladder # LA-401 is 99-1/2 inches when assembled according to the instructions. The height from where it mounts at the bottom to where it mounts at the top is 92-1/2 inches. The manufacturer states that the ladder can be 15 inches longer by minimally trimming one or both sections of the ladder but it is not recommended because it places the rungs too far apart. So I can't recommend trimming any less to make the ladder longer than the 15 extra inches specified by the manufacturer.
But on each half it is about 18 inches from the rung to the ends of the sections. So the tallest the ladder can be is 114-1/2 overall if you trimmed it to the extra 15 inch maximum.
