Recommended Routine Lubrication of Reese Revolution & Sidewinder Pivoting 5th Wheel Pin Box

Question:

When making any turns the Reese Revolution makes a binding noise. It is only 2 years old with less than 1,000 miles. Does the pin box need to be greased?

Yes, a pivoting 5th wheel pin box such as a Reese Revolution (also called a Sidewinder on the aftermarket side) will require routine lubrication. This requirement is perfectly normal. We actually have a help article on this subject that I have linked for you. I also included an image from the article that shows the lubrication points, which include the front skid plate, the rear side of the king pin and both sides of the wedge.

You'll want to use white lithium grease like # L11357 at the lubrication points on the Revolution. The skid plate should be greased as well, and something like # L11390 will work really well.
