Will Ground Clearance be Reduced with Front Mount Receiver Installed on a 2017 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

How much will the C31075 front receiver lower my ground clearance? How many inches if any? I have 9 and one half inches of ground clearance on my 2017 TRD 4x4 off road Tacoma and since I 4x4, I need to keep what ground clearance I have.

You actually will not loose any ground clearance with Curt front mount receiver # C31075 installed on your 2017 Toyota Tacoma. The receiver will not be lower than the lowest part of the front fascia on the truck. I have included a picture showing the hitch installed.

Ive installed this hitch on my Off Road but since it didnt have the air dam, no problem. My 19 Taco Sport has the air dam and looks like requires a bit of cutting on it. Q- Is there a paper template for cutting air dam or is it trial and error?

There's a nice dimensional diagram in the included manual that shows how much of the air dam needs to be cut. What you could do is draw/cut-out a portion of paper based on the diagram to use as a template when trimming. I linked the manual below as well.
