Available 3500-lb-Rated Trailer Axles with Brakes
Question:
AS pictured, my travel trailer doesnt have the standard axle flange to bolt your brake assembly to. I need to replace all four brake assemblies..what product do you recommend? I have the Dexter 8-288 hub.

We do not offer a replacement brake assembly for your axle type.
However, we do offer complete 3500-lb-rated axle kits that include brakes and hubs. We also offer the unique Timbren axle-less suspension kits that dispense with the axle beam entirely and which bolt or weld on to your trailer frame - no hangers, no shackle straps, no equalizers, and no leaf springs to worry about. These Timbren kits can provide substantially improved trailer ground clearance since they eliminate the leaf springs and axle.
In your 3500-lb axle rating we offer both 89-inch beam axle kits like # e43SR that comes complete with electric brakes and 5-on-4-1/2 hubs, and Timbren kits like # A35RS545E which has straight spindles and kit # A35RD545E which has 4-inch-drop spindles for lower trailer height. Among the nice features of the Timbren is the fact they work independently, unlike beam axles.
It may be possible to have a professional welder install new brake flanges on your axles but this process is NOT a typical DIY kind of project. Flanges must be welded on perfectly straight and concentric or all sort of brake and tire problems can arise. New axles will all new components will make life easier in the long run.
