Any time you increase the power of a vehicle and you start really accelerating hard you end up putting more strain on the vehicle. A common place for an issue to arise is the transmission. If your transmission is in good shape and you aren't beating up too hard on your vehicle with the new power you should be just fine.
Now if your transmission is on it's way out the new programmer will push the issue and cause it to go out quicker.
