To connect the hot wire or Red wire of the Rocker Switch, you will connect it to the wire in the ignition switch that only is powered when the ignition is in the ON position. To determine which wire this is, you will need to use a circuit tester, item # PTW2993. If there is a headlight mounted between handlebars there is easily easy access to an ignition source inside headlight housing.
Then, you will connect the Green wire on the rocker switch to the Green wire on the Solenoid. The Black wire on the Rocker Switch will then connect to Black Wire on Solenoid. It is recommended to mount the Solenoid close to the battery under the seat, or in storage box compartment.
The short Red wire from the Solenoid will connect to the included circuit breaker and then to the positive battery terminal. The short Black wire from the Solenoid will connect to the negative battery terminal.
The long Red wire from the Solenoid will connect to the Red terminal on the winch and the long Black wire on the Solenoid will connect to the White terminal on the winch.
