How is Drop Measured and Determined on a Ball Mount

for the drop hitch how is it measured.From the top of the 2x2 plugin to the top of where the ball mounts? Thanks

The drop in a ball mount is measured from the top of the shank that inserts into the receiver tube to the top of the ball platform. See the video I've lined of ball mount # AMSC12. Around the 1:15 mark the drop measurement is demonstrated.

To determine how much drop (Or rise) you need you'll want to have your tow vehicle and trailer on level ground and measure from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube and from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler. Then find the difference.
