For replacement landing gear for your 1996 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel camper, I recommend the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set - Weld On - 34-7/8" Lift - 5,500 lbs # LG-1. This landing gear has a leg length of 29-1/2 inches with a total lift of 34-7/8 inches when using the drop leg fully. I've attached a video to assist.
