Troubleshooting 2013 Ram 3500 Where Pin Box Hitch Bed Rails Around Corners

Question:

I have 2013 ram 3500 long bed with the factory goose neck removable ball it has the push button lock release mechanism. My titanium 5er level doesnt offer enough bed rail clearance the pin box is too long and will hit the inside of the bed. I would like to use the goose neck ball somehow. Its a long bed thanks

Does your truck have the Ramboxes? Typically that's the only bed style we've ever seen cause the clearance issue you mentioned. There is a fifth wheel towing solution that can work around that though.

It requires swapping the pin box out on the trailer with a Sidewinder. The Sidewinders move the pivot point for the hitch up higher which allows the trailer to turn without hitting the bed rails.

Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
