Lugs on Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel Coming Loose
Question:
The set of trailer rims I purchased . I did everything by the book and the trailer travels aprox 500 miles a year . I had to keep tightening the lugnuts . The last time I pulled them and the rims had eaten them ,as well worn . I just checked the rims I removed . They are pristine ,minus the age . What is the deal on this item AM20789?

I have a couple of things that you can do to troubleshoot the lugs coming loose on your Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel # AM20789.
You can start off by making sure that all of the studs on your hub are not loose. Sometimes over time they might start to loosen up,
You will also want to make sure that you have the correct cone angle on your lugs. For the Dexstar wheel you will need to make sure that you are using a 60 degree cone. If you are using lugs with a 90 degree cone or that are flat, that could very well be the issue as well.
You could also try using Loctite # LT37643 which will help to lock the lugs on the wheel. Don't worry though, they can be taken off using hand tools.
