Landing Gear on Keystone Raptor Slips and Has Trouble Raising the Trailer

Question:

I have a 2008 Keystone Raptor 5th wheel toy hauler. My 5th wheel landing gear has a problem where it slips when lifting the front end of the trailer. It is a 1 motor application for the 2 jacks. I recently replaced the gear box, which actually had a broken case. I have been able to rest or stop raising and then lift again and have been successful in raising the front. Is a motor replacement in order?

The first thing I would check is the condition of the battery that powers the landing gear on your trailer. If the battery is starting to go or doesn't have enough charge then the first step I recommend is replacing the batter or charging it with an AC charger than also can recondition it such as # CTEK56353.

If the landing gear still seams to struggle then changing out the motor could help, especially if the landing gear was working fine up until you started having issues.

But if changing the motor results in the same issues then you may need to think about going to a landing gear system that has 2 motors (1 for each leg) such as # UF17-943010.
