Are Magnet Wires on Dexter Electric Drum Brake Polarized as Positive & Negative
Question:
I have two white wires on my dexter electric brake backing plates magnet wires Does it matter which of these is hooked to ground and hot?

Helpful Expert Reply:
No, on an electric drum brake assembly the magnet wires are NOT polarized so either wire can be attached to the frame as ground or used for the +12V brake circuit. Do your best to make sure the ground wire is attached to a rust-free, grease-free bare metal surface. An application of dielectric grease like # 11755 over that secure ground connection can help prevent the entry of moisture that can lead to corrosion.
