Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for 2017 Subaru Outback and 2013 VW GTI

Question:

Im looking for a platform rack to hold two bikes. One of them is a ladies model Electra w/step through frame and fenders. So this rack seems perfect. I have a 2017 Subaru Outback with a factory installed 1.5inch hitch and a 2013 VW GTI with a 1.5inch hitch. Will this rack work on both cars? if not what would you recommend.

The problem with Subaru Outback factory 1-1/4 inch hitches is that the pin hole placement on them makes it hard for most bike racks to fit.

But we do know that the Swagman XC part # S64650 will fit the hitch and since it only touches the bikes at the frame it will work great with your bikes that have fenders as well. The height of your Electra step-thru frame shouldn't be an issue but if you want more stability you can add bike adapter # 64005.
