Is Noise Normal with Weight Distribution Systems

Question:

I have the Pro Series 800/10,000/800 weight distribution hitch installed on a Nissan Armada and a Rockwood Roo 24WS. Often, when I make sharp turns, I hear a loud metallic sound that I strongly believe but cannot confirm that the noise is caused by the frame bracket sliding a little bit during the turn. Is there a way to prevent the sliding other than bolting the frame brackets to the frame? Is there a problem bolting it?

Weight distribution systems are just noisy by nature as you make turns. There's really no way to make them totally silent. Typically the movement is in the frame bracket and the spring bar as that's a common friction point.

It can be pretty startling especially if you aren't used to it, but what you described is normal.

The Equalizer systems make all sorts of crazy noises too.
