Replacing Firestone Ride-Rite Brackets or Upgrading to New Kit
Question:
I have the Firestone Ride-Rite 2535 on my Ford F-250, 2012 model.I pull a 5th wheel with hitch weight of 2800 lbs. The lower bracket and u-bolts have bent. Trying to determine a good plan of action.Replace with new brackets and u-bolts from E-Trailer or replace with a new Ride-Rite 2597.What changes have they made on the 2597 ?By chance did Firestone improve the brackets? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
I spoke with Firestone about this and the brackets of the # F2597 are a little different design but their capacity is still the same. Their recommendation was to go with the new kit because of the better design.
If you decide to replace the brackets the upper is # F5717, lower # F5726, and the clamp is # F3077.
