Need Gooseneck To Fifth Wheel Adapter For 2004 Ford F-250 SD With Square Shank Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

I have a flip over gooseneck hitch in my 04 F250 Superduty. It is a square shank, the same size as a BandW companion shank, but too long I have tried a friends The only marks I can find on the hitch is Cequent Towing Prod., which should make it a Reese, Hidden Hitch, or Bulldog if I am right. If I understand correctly, I can use the High Rise 9480, but want to go with a plate and separate fifth wheel hitch. Any info would be appreciated.

If the gooseneck hitch on your 2004 Ford F-250 SuperDuty has a square shank, flip over hitch it should be a B and W brand gooseneck hitch. I spoke with my contact at Cequent and he said they have never offered a square shank gooseneck hitch. You might want to check underneath your truck bed, on the sideplates of the gooseneck hitch, or on the hitch itself, if there is a sticker that will show the brand of hitch.

The Draw-Tite Hi-Rise Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # 9480, will work on the B and W Turnover Ball Hitch, the Hide-A-Goose Hitch by Reese, and the Under-Bed Hitch by Bulldog.

The fifth wheel adapter plates manufactured by Curt are designed to fit their own brand of gooseneck hitches and also the square B and W Turnover Ball Hitch. I am including a link to a page that will show the Valley and Curt fifth wheel adapter plates that are available.

If you have the B and W Turnover Ball Hitch I would recommend to use the Curt X5 Fifth Wheel Adapter for B&W Square Shank Turnover Ball Hitches, part # 16310. This adapter can be used with Curt 16K and 20K fifth wheel hitches and also other brands of hitches up to 20K. I am including the installation instructions on the Curt fifth wheel adapter.
