5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Short Bed with Turnover Gooseneck

Question:

I own a 2007 Dodge Ram Megacab 2500 5.9L cummins diesel with a 66inch bed. I currently have a bandw turnover ball hitch installed. I am planning on towing a 102inch wide 5th wheel Open Range 3x427bhs to be exact. I need advice on a hitch/pinbox combo that will work with my setup. I also need something that provides enough clearance to NOT hit the cab of my truck. Thanks.

Since your truck is a short bed that means you need a slider hitch. Since you have a B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch part # BWGNRK1313-5W that means the slider you need is the Companion Slider part # BWRVK3400-5W.

The factory pin box on your Open Range will work just fine with the Companion, but if you want to upgrade it to a cushioned pin box you would need to get the model brand and number to me. For example, a very popular option is the Lippert 1621.
