The Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack # S64683 referenced in your question is a great option for transporting up to 2 bikes with your 2013 Ford Escape. It will slide into either a 1-1/4 inch or 2 inch trailer hitch like the one on your vehicle and has a weight capacity of 45 pounds per bike. A really nice feature of this bike rack is that it can be tilted away from the vehicle with the bikes still loaded for easy rear cargo access.

The only other measurement you can look at to ensure this will work with your Ford Escape is the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch receiver to the outermost edge of the bumper. You can use this measurement to determine whether or not a bike rack will clear the rear bumper on your vehicle.

For the Swagman Chinook, the closest part of the rack from the center of the hitch pin hole when it is folded down for use is 12-1/2 inches. When the rack is folded up, the distance is 6 inches. Researching the available trailer hitches for your vehicle, bumper clearance should not be an issue.
