Should Rhino Rack Ski and Snowboard Racks RR572 Fold Down on Round Bars on Highway

Question:

I am using these with a round Yakima bar and have them tighten down pretty good. In fact I worry they are tightened too much but when Im not using them the wind is turning them.

Sounds like you have a set of round bars which notoriously allow racks like the Rhino Rack part # RR572 to turn down when they aren't loaded. What I would recommend is to just turn them down before you start driving. It's going to happen anyway and the good news is that when they are down you'll get less wind noise and better mileage. Basically it's a good thing.

When Yakima comes here (they make the round bars) they actually state this occurrence as a positive for the reasons I mentioned.
