7 inch Diameter Brake Assembly Availability
Question:
Hi! Im looking to convert my small utility trailer from hydraulic to electric brakes. I already have a brake controller for a different trailer. And so I figured it would be nice to update my old trailer with electric assemblies. The drums I have are 4x4 lug pattern 7 inch drums. The axle is 1 inch diameter where the bearing rides. The drums seem to be about 2 1/2 inches deep. I could have measured wrong . Im just wondering if this product will work for me? Thanks!

The common electric brake assembly size that is 7 inches in diameter is 7 inch by 1-1/4 inches wide. The part # AKEBRK-2 matches this and would work on a 2k axle like what you have. It also mounts with a 4 bolt mounting pattern.
Only issue is the depth of the assemblies that you referenced. You listed a much deeper depth than what these are. Can you see where your older shoes were rubbing on the drum? What is that depth?
