Recommended Pole Tongue Adapter And Weight Distribution For 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
Question:
I have an easyloader boat trailer. I also have a 2011 3500 HD chev with a class v hitch and a 41 inch 2.5 in. draw bar with a rating of 500 lbs. TW and 5000 lbs towing and with WD it is 750 Lbs.TW and 7500 Lbs. towing. I would like to purchase a WD system but my issue is the tongue is not a triangle it is a straight 3x5 in. tubefor about 4 ft. Can I use a WD system with this set up and what should I buy? Thank you

You can use a weight distribution system with your trailer with a pole tongue. You need an adapter part # RP58393. This adapter allows you to attach a weight distribution system. Using this pole tongue adapter does limit your towing capacity to 14,000-lbs and the tongue weight is limited to 1,400-lbs.
The weight distribution system I recommend is the Reese Titan, part # RP66006. This is a trunnion bar system and is designed for 2-1/2 inch receiver openings.
Since the shank and hitch ball are not included with the system you will need to purchase them separately. For the shank I recommend part # RP54977. This shank has a 5-3/4 inch drop and an 8-1/4 inch rise.
The hitch ball I recommend is part # 63836. This is a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank.
