Is Specialty Socket Needed to Torquing Hitch Ball of Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution

Question:

Is your thin wall socket eq70-00-4800 required for torquing the nut on the Reese steady flex 66560? Or will a standard 1 7/8inch socket work

Expert Reply:

The thin walled socket is needed for the Equalizer weight distribution hitches. The Reese Steadi Flex part # RP66560 does not require the use of a specialty socket. A standard one would work fine.
