The first thing you will need to do is test the wires on the trailer to find each wires correct operation. You will need a tester like # PTW2993 and you will also need to connect the trailer to you tow vehicle electrical.
Usually, the wires are color coded to its function, but the test will make sure that wire color matches it function. The trailer side wiring is typically this: the white wire is the ground, the brown wire is tail/running lights, yellow wire is supposed to be the left side turn/stop signal, and green wire is right side turn/stop. However, it looks like you have a black wire which might be turn or stop.
Find someone to help you when testing. Have them go through your vehicle trail light, turn signal, and brake light functions to see which wire at the back of the trailer corresponds to your vehicle's lighting function.
Once you have figures out the correct function, then you should be able to wire up the light to your trailer. The light wiring should be as followed: Back will be turn and stop, the white wire is the ground, and both light green and the darker green wires will be tail/running lights and need to be wired together.
The picture you sent shows that you have the correct wires wired together, if the trailer side wires are wired for the correct function according to wire color.
I have linked an article on trailer wiring that will give you more information for you to review.
If you are still having trouble, make sure to check that your ground wire is connected correctly. if you have a bad ground you light will not work.
