Brake controllers are not vehicle specific, so you will be able to use any one you want. The wiring harnesses are vehicle specific and on your 2010 Ford F-150, the harness will plug into a port on the truck. This port will be located to the right of the steering column behind the black pocket in the dash.
For your truck, I recommend the Tekonsha P2 # 90885 with Wiring Harness# 22292. I have included a link to the installation details for reference. The wiring harness will work if you have a factory installed 7-Way or 4-Way. If the truck has a 4-Way, you will also need Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185, to complete installation.
I have included a video that shows a brake controller with the # 22292 wiring harness being installed on a 2009 Ford F-150, which will be similar to your truck. I have also included a link to the installation details for wiring harness # 22292.
