Recommended Trunk-Mounted Bike Carrier For 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon

Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount Item # TH910XT Happy to find this product as it avoids the expense of having to install a ball hitch on my 2017 Subaru Outback. However I am looking for something I can travel with, how do I avoid bike theft with this rack?

If a thief really wants to take the bikes or rack they will figure a way to get them, but we do have a product that makes it much harder.

The Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Adjustable Arms Item # TH45JV comes with locks for both the rack and the bikes. In order for a thief to remove this carrier it would make the carrier unusable which will deter them even trying. The Passage 2 carrier that you mentioned is a more economical rack but does not come with locks. Take a look at the OutWay video and see all of its great features in addition to the locking mechanisms.

As I mentioned, a determined thief will be able to take the rack or bikes if they work hard enough but the locking system included with the OutWay will certainly make them work really hard to be successful.
