Can Backup Camera be Wired to Trailer's Running Lights to be Used While Driving  

I want to install this wireless camera on the rear of my camper. The video suggests wiring the power to the camera through the campers reverse lights. I would like to use the camera while driving. Is there any harm to the camera if I wire it to something like the running lights? Will the camera have a shorter life if it is constantly on, as opposed to just when the reverse lights are on? Thank you.
