Recommended 7-Way Wiring And Brake Controller For 2016 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2016 ford f150 and currently it has a 4 pin trailer wiring connector from the factory. I was wondering if you guys carried anything that would replace that and give me the option for 4 or 7 pin but I would like it to plug into the existing factory wiring

For your 2016 Ford F-150, there is not an adapter to only use your factory wiring for a 7-way, however there is a way to use what you have and add some wires for a 7-way. You will want the Universal Brake Controller Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit will give you the ability to plug your current 4-way flat into a 7-way connector and then run the included wiring for the additional functions. The kit includes the circuit breakers, connectors, and wire you need.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that will apply your trailer's brakes with the same intensity and at the same time as you apply the brakes in your truck. It has and easy to read LCD screen that takes code deciphering out of the equation and will allow you to customize your preferences. It also has 3 levels of boost.
