Recommended Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System to Use With a Trailer TW of 700-900 lbs
Question:
I have an F150 rated for 11,100# towing. My 26foot TT will probably gross out in the mid to high 7000# range and my tongue weight will probably be at or near 900# the dry tongue weight is 718# and most of my storage is in the nose. Which Reese Steadi-Flex weight distribution hitch do you recommend? Why since the one rated for 12,000 lbs has a minimum tongue weight of 600# why wouldnt I give myself the cushion over the 10,000# hitch? Thank you

The Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66560 that you referenced is actually the one that I would have recommended for you out of the Steadi-Flex options if you are just hauling your trailer with nothing in the bed of your F150. When you are looking at Weight Distribution (WD) systems you want to find one that has the tongue weight of your trailer in the middle of it's range. The part # RP66560 that you referenced does just that since it has a weight range of 600-1,200 lbs.
Since WD systems have to handle the weight behind your rear axle as well, this weight also plays into the deciding factor of which hitch to use. If you are planning on hauling some stuff in the bed of your F150 while your trailer is hooked up, I recommend going with the Steadi-Flex # RP66561 which has a weight range of 700-1,400 lbs. If you go this route then you will not have to worry as much about tossing some equipment in the bed of your truck when you still have your trailer hooked up.
