Parts Needed to Tow 5th-Wheel Trailer with 2016 Ram 2500 with 6 Ft Bed and Factory Rail Kit

Question:

I am purchasing a Jayco 2017 model 336 FBOK fifth wheel with approximately 13,705 GVWR. My truck is a 2016 RAM 2500 6 foot bed with cummings diesel with the factory 5th wheel prep kit in the truck bed. I will be using a reese 5th wheel mounting adapter RP30154 with a Reese Titan 16K fifth wheel hitch rp 30866 The Jayco is equiped with a MOR/ryde RPB Rubber pinbox My question is there anything else required for pulling the RV other than whats listed above ?

The Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter # RP30154 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2016 Ram 2500 with a 6 foot bed and factory rail kit. The fixed Reese Titan 16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch you referenced is compatible with these rails and has a gross towing weight capacity of 16,000 pounds, so it would work great with your trailer.

However, since your Ram 2500 has a 6 foot bed, I recommend using a sliding trailer hitch instead like the Curt A16 w/ R16 Slider # C16521. This hitch will give you an additional 12 inches of clearance for making tight turns with your trailer. This also has a 16,000 pound weight capacity and interlocking jaws that provides great jaw-to-king-pin contact. I have attached a video review of this hitch as well as a helpful article that explains why a sliding 5th wheel hitch is recommended with short truck beds.

The only other thing I recommend if you do not have one already is a 5th-Wheel Wiring Harness like the Bargman # 50-97-410. Once installed, this will provide a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck for easy hookup with your trailer.
