Since the trailer hitch on your 2014 Honda Civic is most likely a Class I receiver, you will need a ball mount that is compatible with Class I trailer hitches.
First, for a hitch ball I recommend the Tow Ready 1-7/8" Diameter and Short Shank # 19256. This hitch ball has a gross towing weight capacity of 2,000 pounds.
Choosing the correct ball mount will depend on what is needed to keep your vehicle and trailer as level as possible. For example, the Sportframe Draw Bar # 3593 is compatible with a Class I trailer hitch and has a rise of 2-1/8 inches or a drop of 2-3/4 inches. Looking at the trailer hitches for your Honda Civic, this should put the ball mount at around 13-14 inches off the ground. You want to make sure you are measuring from level ground to the bottom of your trailer coupler to determine what rise you will need. I have attached a helpful article that explains these measurements in order to choose the correct ball mount as well as a link that will take you to our selection of ball mounts for Class I trailer hitches.
Then for a wiring harness to send power to your trailer's rear lights, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56051. You will use this to quickly install a 4-way trailer connector on your Honda Civic. The T-Connector will plug directly into existing wiring, so no cutting or splicing is required.
