5th Wheel Towing with 2014 Ram 2500 with Rambox
Question:
So from previous questions... I can just get a fixed hitch and a sidewinder and be able to tow safely? We are wanting a fifth wheel but I cant figure out what to do for a hitch with the rambox.... does the sidewinder act as a slider like the pullrite?

For a Ram short-bed truck with the Rambox feature the best bet for 5th wheeling is a Sidewinder pivoting pin box that replaces your standard fixed pin box. This will extend the truck/trailer pivot point toward the trailer by 22-inches. The wedge that you will use to lock the king pin in the hitch will keep the pin box straight so that the trailer actually pivots at the rear of the Sidewinder. You will select the wedge made for your specific hitch.
We have several Sidewinder models that are pin-box specific, so you can use the linked article to see if we have one that is a direct bolt-on replacement for yours. For example, if you have the popular Lippert 1116 you can use Sidewinder # RP61412.
