Tail Light Function Not Working on Brake and Tail Light Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover
Question:
Im not getting any voltage on the brown wire when my tail lights are on. The brake light works fine. Do you think I have a 2 wire harness? I was thinking about pig tailing the brown wire directly to my tail light. What do you think? Thanks!

First, check to make sure there is power on the running light circuit on the vehicle side trailer connector using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993. If there is no power when the lights are on then there is something wrong on the vehicle side, likely a blown fuse. It could also be that the vehicle side connector is corroded and needs to be cleaned out with a wire brush. This has happened to me before.
If there is power then there is an issue on the side of the Pilot lighted cover # CR-007 such as a loose connection. If the cover side is fine then running the wire directly to a vehicle tail light wire would work.
