Capability of Dolly Towing 2017 Nissan Rogue with Front Wheel Drive

Question:

I have a 2017 Nissan Rogue SL. FWD. It has a push button start automatic can this be towed on a dolly ? If so the ignition goes off in about 5 minutes. The other cars I had I had to leave the ignition in the aux position so the ignition was off but the steering lock didnt come on. If I get another dolly can and how would I tow the rogue Thanks

Dolly towing or flat-towing a vehicle is subject to the auto maker's approval. Some vehicle versions may be towable in one or the other method while similar versions may possibly not be towable. The specific transmission is often the deciding component.

I was able to access an edition of the owner's manual for the 2017 Rogue on the Nissan website and on pages 10-25/26 Nissan indicates that the front-wheel-drive version cannot be towed with its front wheels on the ground but that use of a dolly is allowed. I urge you to check your own printed manual and/or to speak to your local dealership who can look up the vehicle VIN to confirm its equipment and capabilities. The online manual made no mention of the push-button ignition.

We do offer the Roadmaster tow dolly # RM-2050-1 which includes electric brakes. These brakes require use of a brake controller such as the Prodigy P2 # 90885.
