Platform Bike Rack to be Used on Front Mount Hitch of 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Question:

Looking for a 2 bike rack recommendation for a front hitch curt hitch 31023 on a 2013 Silverado HD. I saw the S64663 on your site, is this an XC model? What are your thoughts on xtc2? Primary concern is truck suspension stiffness, ground clearance, and driver visibility.

Using a bike rack that's approved for RV use, like the Swagman # S64663 you mentioned, is a pretty good idea on a front hitch. RV bike racks are built sturdier than those that aren't RV approved so they can handle the added movement from the RV's long wheel base. Having that additional stability to a rack on the front, with all of the extra wind and jarring from turns, sounds like a good idea.

The # S64663 is not an XC model but it has a similar design.

The XTC-2 # S64670 is a great bike rack. However, I think the # S64663 might be better for your use because of the stability. Also, the center mast on the XTC-2 is 36-3/4 inches where the RV rack is only 32-1/4. Giving you a better view of the road. The XTC-2 does give you 3 inches of ground clearance, which might be nice, but that's going to put the rack higher up and block your vision even more.
