Trouble Securing Yakima FullTilt 5-Bike Rack to OEM Hitch on 2017 Honda Pilot

Question:

I just purchased a 2017 Honda Pilot along with the Honda OEM hitch. The Yakima Full Tilt 5 bike rack that I purchased from you does not seem to be compatible with the hitch because it lacks a 2nd set of holes deeper in the hitch which are necessary to allow the racks auto-pin to engage. Do you sell short hitch extensions that could do be used to create the necessary fit for this bike rack?

The Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack - Tilting referenced in your question has an integrated AutoPin hitch pin that should pop into place when it enters the side pin hole of your trailer hitch. A second set of holes on the trailer hitch should not be needed. Once the pin pops into place, you will turn the knob at the other end of the rack to tighten the bike rack shank in the hitch receiver.

If the hitch pin hole is too close to the receiver opening to properly secure the bike rack's shank, then the only option to still use the Yakima Full Tilt Bike Rack may be to install a new, aftermarket trailer hitch on your Honda Pilot. Yakima does state that the warranty on any bike rack will be voided if used with a hitch extender, so unfortunately this option is not recommended.

For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75225, which is confirmed to fit your 2017 Honda Pilot. This has a 2 inch receiver opening with a tongue weight capacity of 900 pounds. I have attached an installation video for you to check out.
