Will the Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC158778 Fit as a Replacement for my Lippert 1621 Box
Question:
I am thinking of replacing my lippert 1621 pin box with this trailair unit. the original pin box has a wide range of adjustment but it looks like this air unit has taller sides where the bolts go and may take away some of the height adjust-ability range. I would like to know the height between the kingpin surface plate and the bottom forward bolt hole with hitch at ride height. I see there are a few pics on the qanda but they lack this measurement. thanks

I called Lippert and my contact said that the Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC158778 that you inquired about will offer the same, if not more, height adjustability as the OEM Lippert 1621 pin box. The height from the king pin surface plate to the bottom forward bolt hole that you asked about will vary depending on your setup. Since the Trailair Air Ride is adjustable, it might be one height for one trailer and a slightly different height for a different trailer because you will adjust the air bags until your trailer is level.
