Identifying Trailer Wire Colors on 2016 Ford Explorer for Wiring to Trailer
Question:
I have a trailer with yellow, brown, white,green, and black wires and want to connect it to my 2016 Explorer with yellow, brown, white, and green 4 flat. What wires do i hve to double up on?

That extra black wire on the vehicle's trailer wiring is interesting as that's not normally seen. If I had to guess I'd say it's a reverse light circuit but you would need to test it with a tester like part # PTW2993 to see when voltage on it appears.
Either way it would not be necessary to connect to your trailer's 4-way. Basically you would just match all the colors to each other and then leave off the black wire.
